Illegal Immigrants - Is there an End in Sight

I was just looking back at some of my previous posts and noticed the first bolg I wrote on illegal immigration is dated over two years ago(2005). And that was well after many Americans began to question the lack of attention being given to the problem by our politicians. It was long after grave concerns were being expressed by most Americans about the lack of security at our borders. And here we are nearing the 9th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and still very little has been done to address the problem.

In pure congressional fashion our politicians drafted a bill to address immigration reform in 2006, and wouldn't you know, they were listening to the minority when they decided what should be done to fix the problem. Give them all amnesty. This is where I had to part ways with the Bush administrations' thinking. In most part I supported President Bush, but I think he lost his way when thinking amnesty is the answer. President Reagan granted amnesty to illegal aliens in the 1980's thinking the illegal alien laws would be enforced thereby ending the problem. Well, it was a humanitarian effort but it didn't work.
